mental health doula

As a mental health doula, I offer compassionate, autonomy-centered support for those navigating neurodivergent experience, altered states, perceptual shifts, life transitions, and identity exploration.

Rooted in decolonial trauma studies, liberatory pedagogy, neurodiversity-affirming frameworks, anti-carceral care, and active lineage traditional medicine, my approach holds space for periods of emotional intensity and life reorganization to be witnessed rather than pathologized — honoring self-determination and supporting integration through critical mental health research, doula accompaniment and advocacy, and active lineage traditional medicine.

the three processes

a three-month container moving through three transformational processes

01 healing stories

Narrative healing and meaning-making through non-pathologizing frameworks. We reframe experiences through lenses that honor your truth — drawing on neurodiversity-affirming identities, feminist care lineages, decolonial trauma studies, queer theory, and active lineage mysticism.

02 sovereignty toolkit

Practical strategies for inhabiting medical, institutional, and sociocultural systems on your own terms — building real, usable tools for advocating, communicating, and maintaining sovereignty across the relational and systemic encounters of daily life.

03 care maps

Building care networks, rituals, and accommodation maps for your support needs and altered states. We design practical, consent-based structures that honor your bodymind and can be activated when you need them most.

each process includes

sacred spaceholding, energetic resourcing, liberatory praxis and a care packet

  • Sacred Spaceholding

Sacred Spaceholding is the relational foundation of each process — a confidential, non-judgmental container for what needs to be witnessed, felt, and heard. Rooted in a profound feminist care tradition that understands witnessing, presence, and accompaniment as radical acts, doula methodology centers your autonomy and honors your experience as the authority on your own life. In the context of mental health and neurodivergent care — where support has so often been offered coercively, through frameworks that pathologize, correct, or override the person receiving care — a modality built entirely on consent, autonomy, and trust in your own emotional process is not just different, it is radical. Nothing is offered that is not explicitly asked for. There is no agenda to fix, diagnose, or intervene — only to be fully present with what is alive in you. Through deep listening, reflective inquiry, and narrative accompaniment, we create the conditions for what is most alive in you to surface, in your own time and on your own terms. What emerges here shapes everything that follows.

  • Energetic resourcing

Energetic Resourcing follows Sacred Spaceholding — working with what has surfaced in the relational space through active lineage energetic healing modalities, under the Transformative Energy Work system. Drawing on seven years of embodied practice in active lineage healing medicine, these sessions resource, clear, and reorient your energy body in response to what emerged in spaceholding. Just as the body needs specific nutrients and enzymes to digest food, the energetic and emotional body needs specific resources to digest and alchemize experience — and Energetic Resourcing draws on rich medicinal lineages and techniques to provide exactly that. Energy work and traditional healing modalities represent vast, sophisticated knowledge systems that have supported human wellbeing across cultures and lineages for centuries — and whose insights have deeply informed our understanding of the mind, body, and spirit in ways that are rarely acknowledged. These are not alternative or supplementary practices. They are primary healing lineages in their own right, carrying precise and potent knowledge about how humans process experience, move through transformation, and restore balance.

  • liberatory praxis

Liberatory Praxis is an educational and relational session rooted in liberatory pedagogy — knowledge that moves toward action, self-determination, and meaning-making. Drawing on research across medical sociology, medical anthropology, decolonial trauma studies, neurodiversity-affirming frameworks, and critical psychiatry and psychology, each Praxis Session is built from what surfaced in the preceding Sacred Spaceholding session and tailored entirely to your specific process and journey.

Sessions may include Neurodiversity-Affirming Diagnostic Integration, Care System Literacy, Beyond Biomedical Models of Mental Health, Altered State Support Planning, Coloniality & Cosmological Liberation, Non-Carceral Care Mapping, and more.

  • care packet

A Care Packet is a written document developed from your sessions and your doula's in-depth research, tailored entirely to your specific process and journey. Each packet is built from what emerged in your Sacred Spaceholding and Praxis Sessions — translating the work into something tangible, researched, and yours to keep long after the container closes.

Care Packets may include resource lists, liberatory reading and media recommendations, frameworks and theoretical orienting materials, communication scripts, role-play scenarios, accommodation strategies, care network maps, safety and resourcing protocols, referrals to affirming providers, and reflections drawn from your work together.

  • A new diagnosis can shift the lens through which you see your entire life. These sessions create space to reprocess your story alongside this new lens with compassion, tending to old wounds that may surface and integrating them into a fuller sense of self. Together, we might use inner child work, narrative reframing, and other practices to support you in weaving a diagnosis into your life in ways that feel empowering rather than limiting. Drawing on critical sociology, we also recognize that diagnosis is not simply descriptive but productive — it shapes meaning, identity, and possibility. With this awareness, we’ll explore how you want to relate to your diagnosis, ensuring it serves your agency, dignity, and growth.

  • Periods of profound transformation — marked by shifts in perception, meaning, identity, or one's relationship to reality — can be as disorienting as they are expansive. These sessions create space to tend to what is moving through you, grounding transformative experience safely in daily life without rushing toward resolution or explanation. Together we explore how colonial frameworks have shaped the way we understand and pathologize these experiences, and build practices for navigating them on your own terms. You'll also receive guidance for finding aligned mentors and communities, and support in making meaning from transformative experiences within a non-pathologizing, affirming container.

  • Together, we explore critical psychiatry, decolonial approaches to mental health, and practical tools for navigating care systems. These sessions are about centering your autonomy: understanding misdiagnoses, exploring sensory accommodations, and practicing effective communication with providers through role-play. You’ll also receive guidance on choosing between self-diagnosis and formal diagnosis, accessing affirming resources, and identifying practitioners who respect your identity. If needed, we’ll also cover how to recognize and respond to cultural, racial, or gender bias in care.

  • Assistance in mapping and building a community network that honors your bodymind, understands your accommodations, and can respond when your support is needed. I also provide guidance and advocacy to ensure your accommodations are respected in workplaces, schools, and other environments. This includes personalized strategies for sensory, cognitive, and emotional support, as well as practical planning and coping tools to make daily life more sustainable and empowering.

  • These sessions focus on two moments in relation to altered states of consciousness — psychosis, suicidality, meltdowns, shutdowns, and acute depressive or anxiety states. Proactive preparation: building personalized care plans, safety protocols, and resourcing strategies before intensity arrives. And post-integration: processing what happened, making meaning on your own terms, and weaving the experience back into your life. Informed by decolonial, postcolonial, and critical psychiatry approaches that honor your autonomy and self-defined relationship to these experiences.

  • Grief takes many forms — loss of a person, a relationship, an identity, a diagnosis, a version of yourself, or a future you imagined. These sessions create a non-pathologizing space to be with grief in all its complexity, moving at your own pace without pressure toward resolution or recovery. Drawing on decolonial trauma studies and feminist care lineages, we tend to grief as a meaningful and sovereign experience rather than a problem to be managed or a timeline to be met.
